Born in Bruges, living in Brussels since 2015. Started classical piano lessons at a very early age. Raised by musical parents, he started to play the violin at a very early age. On hearing a recording of Dizzy Gillespie’s version of The Sunny Side of the Street, his interest was aroused in jazz music (now I think it was simply the joy of this music that got me, it still does), and he took part in a workshop in 2008. In 2012, the jazz&improvisation department in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels accepted Hendrik, where he graduated 5 years later. Now Hendrik goes around (mainly Flanders, Belgium) writing and playing his or other music, interested mainly in the acoustic sound possibilities of the piano, in keyboards and computers and the collaboration or isolation of musicians.
